§ 20-7. Same—Duties, responsibilities.

  • (a)

    The zoning enforcement officer shall be directly responsible to the zoning administrator and shall have the following duties and responsibilities in addition to those which may be designated and assigned by the zoning administrator:

    (1)

    Work at the direction of the zoning administrator and assist the administrator in the fulfillment of his duties.

    (2)

    Enforce the provisions of the zoning ordinances on a day-to-day basis.

    (3)

    Conduct field work and data collection relative to the preparation of the various rezoning petitions that come before the planning commission.

    (4)

    Post all legal notices required by the zoning ordinance.

    (5)

    Enforce all zoning ordinances, and exercise the power to make affidavit for the warrant of arrest for any person violating the terms of the zoning ordinance.

    (b)

    The zoning enforcement officer shall exercise the duties and responsibilities of the zoning administrator in the absence of the zoning administrator.
