§ 22-28. Sign construction and maintenance.

  • All signs must comply with applicable state, federal and City of Pine Bluff regulations, building, and electrical codes.

    All signs, including those specifically exempt from permits and fees, shall be maintained and kept in good repair. Display surfaces must be kept clean, neatly painted, free from rust and corrosion. Owners must repair dilapidated or damaged signs within thirty (30) days after being notified by the city. Noncompliance shall constitute a nuisance and penalties may be assessed.

    No sign may be placed or designed so as to simulate or interfere with traffic control devices or official highway directional/informational signs. Signs shall not interfere with internal parking areas, traffic lanes, nor be placed in designated parking spaces and/or area.

    The general area in the vicinity of any sign shall be kept free and clear of sign material, debris, weeds, trash and refuse. Landscaping and grass shall be neatly maintained at all times. Plants and vines shall not be allowed to grow on the sign or sign structure.
