§ 26-49. Authority to erect stop signs and yield right-of-way signs.

  • Whenever any ordinance designates and describes collector and arterial streets, it shall be the duty of the street department to place and maintain a stop sign or yield right-of-way sign on each and every street intersecting such collector and arterial streets, or intersecting that portion thereof described and designated as such, unless traffic at any such intersection is controlled at all times by traffic-control signals. At the intersection of two (2) such through streets, stop signs or yield right-of-way signs shall be erected at the approaches of either of such streets as may be determined by the traffic operations committee and the city council upon the basis of a traffic study.
