§ 26-52. The traffic director to designate crosswalks, safety zones, and traffic lanes.

  • The traffic director is authorized:

    (1)

    To designate crosswalks at intersections where, in his opinion, there is particular danger to pedestrians crossing the roadway, and at such other places as he may deem necessary. The city engineer shall maintain such crosswalks by appropriate devices, marks, or lines upon the surface of the roadway.

    (2)

    To establish safety zones of such kind and character and at such places as he may deem necessary for the safety of pedestrians.

    (3)

    To designate any street where, in his opinion, a regular alignment of traffic is desirable. The city engineer shall mark traffic lanes upon the roadway at any street so designated.
