§ 26-141. Prohibited; no signs required.

  • No persons shall stop or park a vehicle and/or equipment except when complying with the directions of a police officer in the case of emergencies or other special circumstance, in any of the following places:

    (1)

    Within ten (10) feet of a public or private driveway;

    (2)

    On a street directly across from a public or private driveway if said street is less than twenty (20) feet in pavement width;

    (3)

    On a sidewalk;

    (4)

    Within an intersection;

    (5)

    Within fifteen (15) feet of a fire hydrant;

    (6)

    Within thirty (30) feet of the intersection of all streets;

    (7)

    On a crosswalk;

    (8)

    Within ten (10) feet of a mail box;

    (9)

    Within fifty (50) feet of the nearest rail of a railroad crossing;

    (10)

    Upon any bridge, viaduct, overpass, underpass, or any other type of grade separation, and upon the approaches to same;

    (11)

    Within thirty (30) feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station and on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station;

    (12)

    Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when stopping, standing, or parking would obstruct traffic;

    (13)

    On a roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge of a curb or street;

    (14)

    Within thirty (30) feet at the beginning or end of a work/safety zone along a road unless the local traffic authority indicates a different length by signs or markings;

    (15)

    Upon any street which would cause the reduction of travel lanes to only one lane;

    (16)

    In front of any place of business assembly during the period of public assemblage therein, or of a principal exit or entrance to a school, hotel, theater, hospital, or other public building; or

    (17)

    No vehicle shall be allowed to park in any designated bicycle lane.

    (18)

    No vehicle shall be allowed to park on the wrong side of the street where the vehicle has to cross the travel lane of vehicles traveling the opposite direction.

    (19)

    No vehicle shall be parked in a parking space longer than the stated time period designated on the "Parking Time Limit" sign.
