§ 2-142. [Returned check fee.]

(a)

That effective January 1, 1999, city departments shall assess and collect a fee of twenty dollars ($20.00) from the maker or drawer of a check which is returned to the city due to insufficient funds being available to pay the check when it is presented for payment.

(b)

Proceeds derived from collection of this fee shall go into the city's general fund.
