§ 5-57. Interference with enforcement.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful to fail to comply with specific written orders issued by the division of animal control within the time period prescribed.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to interfere in any manner with the director of the animal shelter, any animal control worker or law enforcement officer while they are discharging their duties or have in their custody any animal. It shall likewise be unlawful for any person to interfere in any manner with a veterinarian whose services have been secured by law enforcement or animal control in furtherance of carrying out the provisions of this article.

    (c)

    It shall also be unlawful for any person to remove from the animal control center or a veterinarian's premises an animal which has been taken into the lawful custody of animal control unless the director or other person in charge of animal control has authorized the release of said animal.
