§ 19-1.1. Buy back of accrued sick leave exceeding ninety days for nonuniformed employees.
(a)
It is hereby provided that the city shall pay the sum of twenty dollars ($20.00) per day for each sick leave day lost by any nonuniformed or uniformed employee because he or she has accrued more than ninety (90) days sick leave at the end of the calendar year. Sick leave for firemen working twenty-four (24) hours shifts, and exclusively for payback purposes alone, shall be two (2) days for each twenty-four (24) hour shift, to a maximum of ten (10) shifts or twenty (20) sick days annually, For all other uniformed or nonuniformed personnel, a sick leave day shall be eight (8) hours for purposes of this provision.
(b)
The foregoing shall not be construed to create any vested right in the employee to receive same and payments are contingent upon available funding.
