§ 7-272. Appointment and removal from office.

  • The board shall be composed of one (1) licensed architect or engineer, one (1) licensed building contractor, one (1) licensed plumber, one (1) licensed electrician, and one (1) licensed mechanical contractor. No board member shall be nor shall have been employees of the City of Pine Bluff for five (5) years prior to date service begins on the board. No board member shall become full-time non-contractual employee of the City of Pine Bluff while serving on the board. Of the members first appointed one (1) shall be appointed for a term of one (1) year, two (2) shall be appointed for two (2) years, two (2) shall be appointed for three (3) years, and thereafter they shall be appointed for terms of three (3) years. All board members shall be residents of the governed area. Vacancies shall be filled for unexpired terms in the manner in which original appointments are made. Three (3) consecutive absences of any member from regular meetings of the board shall, at the discretion of the mayor, render any member liable to immediate removal from office.
